What is a Balanced Diet?

Because all of us are different shapes, sizes, and ages there isn’t one diet which is perfect for us all. However there are guidelines which apply to us all. What is important is that we eat a variety of foods from all the food groups and that we balance total calories we consume with energy output.

What is the right type of fuel?

What is important is that we eat a variety of foods from all the food groups and that we balance total calories we consume with energy output.

 

What is the right amount of fuel?

This is a hard one to answer... again, this all depends on your size, shape and age.. but most importantly, it depends on your energy output. If you are active your body will need more energy than if you are a couch potato! If you consume more calories than you ‘burn off’, you’re not in balance.
