They must also have the capacity to meet financial requirements and the business acumen to operate their own franchise. Start Up Costs

• Goodwill
This cost varies depending on the size of the turnover of the business for sale (generally $30K - $80K)

• Cookie Time Van
Vans can be sourced independently or are sometimes available via the outgoing franchisee. Any vans sourced independently are required to meet Cookie Time's specifications; they must be white with Cookie Time decals applied. Cookie Time Ltd. has negotiated deals with Kia and Toyota, with details being provided during the sales process. Van prices vary from $25K - $35K, Decals cost approximately $1700 + gst including application

• Cookie Time Specified Computer System
This is sometimes available through the outgoing distributor. Costs are approximately $1500

• Cookie Time Specified Handheld Invoicing System
This is sometimes available through the outgoing distributor. Costs are approximately $2500

• Sundry Items
Uniform, stationery, business cards. Costs are approximately $500

• Phone and Fax
The ability to receive messages via the Cookie Time paging service is required. Cookie Time has negotiated a customised mobile phone plan with Telecom which offers favourable rates.

• Working Capital
As a Cookie Time franchisee, you will need to fund your stock, while Cookie Time will fund your debtors. As such, a working capital requirement proportional to the size of the business' weekly purchases and the growth it's experiencing is necessary. Working capital is an ongoing financial requirement.
